Your Current Golf Game and Plan

Let's talk about golf improvement.

Think about your golf goal and what it is you are striving for. Remember that golf is a learning process, and you are on your own personal golf journey. I have been playing for quite some time, but I too am on my own journey with this game. Surprisingly, I still want to keep improving...because for me, I like the challenge and it makes golf really interesting.

For many golfers, learning the game or improving can seem overwhelming and frustrating. Our brains are wired to think of many obstacles and negative thoughts along the way to achieving our goals.

The key to success in anything is to set your intention or goal, see it being achieved, commit to it fervently and then take action right away.

In golf as with other activities or sports, the number one way to take action and improve your golf game is through practice and playing.

- You have to be swinging a golf club to get better.

- Commit to a practice time or schedule.

- Consistent practice = consistent performance.

Practicing allows you to make mistakes, try things out, get more comfortable and have "aha" moments. These moments are what keep you coming back for more in golf. They are the beautiful shots where everything seems to click into place, or you figure something out, or maybe you have an amazing round where all that practice is paying off. Whatever it is, it is a great feeling!

When you experience these, take them as gifts and remember the feeling. They are great for keeping up the motivation.

A few more thoughts. Each of us has our own needs, wants, desires from golf.

Remember to enjoy it at your own pace and don't compare yourself to others as this is your own personal journey. We can get very down on ourselves because we are either comparing ourselves to others or have too high of expectations. I say this a lot, but it is best to enjoy the learning process. That's why we are out there, right? To have fun, to challenge ourselves, learn, improve, connect and spend time with others.

Enjoy the journey and improvement and consistency will come in time.
